USC’s Black ‘Majorette’ Dance Squad Performs On ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show,’ Reignites Backlash

After dealing with endless backlash across social media, USC’s first-ever Black ‘majorette’ dance group appeared on Jennifer Hudson’s nationally telecasted talk program where they carried out in front of a cheering studio audience.

Creator of The Cardinal Divas Princess Isis Lang and her fellow dancers opened about their viral launching and the criticism they’ve gotten over bringing a traditionally Black custom to a primarily white organization.

Interestingly, Lang stated that she produced the group due to the fact that she didn’t see young Black women dancing on groups in the public eye which reignited the social networks reaction.

“When I did this, it wasn’t simply for me… it was due to the fact that I didn’t see young Black women with curly hair, young Black women with braids, dancing on groups and being out there in the public eye,” she stated.

It didn’t take wish for the reaction to rev back up throughout social networks.

Lang’s nationally-televised look comes simply days after the University of Southern California trainee published an 8-second clip with a group of young Black females dancing in sync with each other as a crowd of white fans cheer in the background at the predominately white organization (PWI).

For what seemed like permanently, Twitter clashed over the video that began as a minute of pride for Princess prior to degenerating into a dispute over keeping the culture within the culture vs. Black individuals’s right to take a location on their own in a predominately white environment.
