Steve Mariucci Wouldn’t Bench Purdy For Garoppolo In Playoffs, ‘Stay With Hot Hand’

Jimmy Garoppolo doubtless would not get his job again within the playoffs if Steve Mariucci was in command of the Niners … the ex-head coach tells TMZ Sports he’d stick with Brock Purdy within the postseason with the intention to “ride the hot hand.”

Garoppolo broke his foot again on Dec. 4 — however with a restoration timetable of 7-8 weeks … there’s an opportunity he may very well be prepared in time for the NFC Championship Game, and even the Super Bowl.

Mooch, although, stated out at LAX final week that if SF will get that far — and Purdy continues to be enjoying nicely — he’d hold Jimmy G on the bench.

“If Brock Purdy keeps playing like he’s playing right now — which is unbelievable — I don’t know that you change that,” stated Mariucci, who was the Niners’ head coach from 1997-2002.
