The following is an immediate caution from Radio One about a fraud including a few of its radio station residential or commercial properties. With the development of social networks, these rip-offs are on the increase, and Radio One, an Urban One business, desires its listeners to be informed, recommended, and on the alert for these rip-offs.
Here’s how it works: the fraudster develops a phony station or character page, perhaps even taking logo designs and pictures of genuine stations or characters without Radio One’s approval. The fraudster then connects to aiming artists by means of social networks.
BlackAmericaWeb reports, you might get a direct message or telephone call about a tune contest or about putting your tune on air. The message or caller claims to be with a Radio One or other regional radio station and states your tune will be used air if you pay a charge. The fraudster will then ask you to spend for the airing of your tune by means of an app or a comparable instantaneous payment approach. That’s when you understand it’s a fraud. Radio One does not take part in or excuse such practices.
Don’t pay a cent! Please understand that Radio One does not obtain cash in exchange for the airing of any tunes.
If you’ve been the victim of this fraud, you can submit a report at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
