Shakira is sounding off on the “Barbie” film — saying that its message of ultra-feminism and feminine empowerment is misguided … and comes on the expense of males.
The singer talked to Allure concerning the flick … and he or she was brutally trustworthy about how she and her youngsters — two boys, particularly — felt about it … and regardless of the overwhelming reward the film bought final 12 months, Shakira says she and her brood weren’t all that impressed.
Shakira says … “My sons absolutely hated it. They felt that it was emasculating. And I agree, to a certain extent.”
She goes on … “I’m raising two boys. I want ‘em to feel powerful too [while] respecting women. I like pop culture when it attempts to empower women without robbing men of their possibility to be men, to also protect and provide.”
Shakria provides, “I believe in giving women all the tools and the trust that we can do it all without losing our essence, without losing our femininity. I think that men have a purpose in society and women have another purpose as well.”
Lastly, she says .. “We complement each other, and that complement should not be lost.”
Positively a scorching take from Shakira right here — who appears to be echoing some conservative speaking factors which were espoused about ‘Barbie’ for a number of months now. Here, it might seem she’s considerably conservative herself … at the least on this explicit difficulty, anyway.
We’re positive this may trigger some chatter … Shakira’s a giant deal, and her opinion issues.
