Rihanna‘s halftime efficiency at Super Bowl LVII triggered a lots of outrage for folks viewing on television … they flooded the FCC with complaints, stating her set was too huge on sex.
The general takeaway from the folks who felt obliged to grumble about Rihanna to the feds … the lyrics and choreography were way too sexualized, with some audiences even comparing it to porn.
TMZ got the 103 complaints made to the Federal Communications Commission — a U.S. federal government firm that controls tv — concerning this month’s Super Bowl broadcast … and practically all of them pertained to RiRi’s halftime show.
One audience in California even compared Rihanna’s set to Kim Petras and Sam Smith‘s performance at the Grammys, composing … “I don’t care what someone worships but children shouldn’t be exposed to pornography and as an adult I don’t wish to see it … Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and self?”
In Utah, one audience bitched … “This year the halftime show was so indecent I had to turn off the TV because of the pornographic content.”
Meanwhile, folks throughout the nation clutched pearls over the “overtly sexual dancing” and tune material heavy on sexual material.
Rihanna was pregnant so she didn’t dance much … and the majority of the ire was directed at the background dancers, who some state made gestures that “were patently offensive and completely inappropriate for children.”
When RiRi did handle some dance relocations, they drew complaints too … with one audience in Florida grumbling, “She spread her a** cheek at the crack. She rubbed her pants where her labia were three times.”
Of course, Rihanna’s show was a cinch for the FCC compared to another Super Bowl halftime efficiency … keep in mind, the Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson closet breakdown at the 2004 Super Bowl created 540,000 complaints!!!
