Richard Gere Hospitalized with Pneumonia in Mexico

Richard Gere is recuperating in Mexico this weekend after he captured a case of pneumonia — this while vacationing with his household — however the bright side is … he’s gonna be alright.

Sources familiar with the circumstance inform TMZ … the star is down near Nuevo Vallarta today — where he’s commemorating the 40th birthday of his better half, Alejandra Silva, with their kids. Alejandra published a picture Thursday revealing her and the kiddos strolling towards a beach.

We’re informed that, prior to the journey, Richard established a bad cough … and it continued while he existed too. Our sources state it got so bad, he needed to examine himself into a health center … where we’re informed he was detected with pneumonia and dealt with in an over night stay. Unclear what day he went in, however we’re informed it was throughout his vacay — which is continuous.

Fortunately, he was out the following day … and we’re informed Richard was provided prescription antibiotics to assist keep the disease at bay. For now, our sources state he appears to be doing far better.

Interestingly, Alejandra herself mentioned an illness that obviously continued to pet dog Richard. In the IG post from Thursday … she stated the entire household had actually been ill for 3 weeks.

However, her IG Story post from Saturday appears to verify what we’re finding out about RG’s condition — specifically, that he’s fine. You can see her, Richard and among their kids strolling … and she notes it’s another beach day for them. Richard is seen using a mask.
