Taylor recalled the moments after the alleged assault on the couple’s Seattle-area condominium in an interview with CBS This Morning in February 2021.
“I had touched my face, and I looked down and there was — there’s blood on my hand,” Taylor stated. “And I remember getting up and running to the bathroom. Chad was standing by the bed, by the doorway, and he was sipping his smoothie. And he was, like, ‘Wow, you’re — you’re still alive.’”
Taylor was rescued by police after she texted family and friends asking them to name 911 whereas locked within the toilet, the charging paperwork said. When officers arrived on the scene, Taylor started to scream whereas Wheeler allegedly started apologizing to her, telling police “I don’t beat women!”
Taylor, whose accidents included a fractured humerus and dislocated elbow, later instructed investigators that she was attacked after Wheeler had requested her to bow to him and he or she refused.
