Homeowners of Spencer, the late Boston Marathon canine, will hold the decade-long custom alive, tapping their new pups, Jimmy and Jade, to carry the #BostonSturdy flag on the well-known race!
TMZ Sports activities spoke with Wealthy Powers following Spencer’s statue unveiling in Ashland State Park — simply over a yr after the doggo passed away following a most cancers battle — concerning the golden retriever’s significance to runners, in addition to the canine who will try to observe in his paws.

After Spencer died, Powers obtained new remedy canine, two English cream golden retrievers named Jimmy and Jade, and the plan is for them to carry the flags as 1000’s of runners go by alongside the marathon route.
“[Spencer] was buried with one of his sets of flags along with a marathon medal,” Powers mentioned. “One, if not both, will be there on marathon Monday in front of the statue holding a set of Spencer’s flags.”
“Jimmy is doing well with holding the flag. Jade is only 4 months old and is in process.”
