Morgan Wallen Chair Throwing Witness Speaks Out, Cites No Real Reason

Morgan Wallen did not seem to have any actual motive to throw a chair off the rooftop of a Nashville bar — so claims a safety guard for the joint … who’s relaying what witnesses mentioned.

Michael Phillips — who works safety for the newly-opened Chief’s Bar in Downtown Nashville — got here on “TMZ Live” Monday to offer us the rundown of what he says he noticed Sunday evening … when MW was arrested for allegedly chucking the chair down into the road.

He says he did not even notice it was Morgan at first, however tells us the man went straight to the rooftop — and that half-hour later … he noticed a chair land inside toes of a police cruiser.

Whereas Michael says he did not see Morgan throw the chair in query, he does say there’s safety footage that confirms MW because the perpetrator. He goes on to quote eyewitnesses who spoke to cops — and he offers a way of what they informed the police.

Particularly … Phillips claims these folks implicated Morgan — and worse but, he says they did not see him in any form of argument with anybody. The witnesses apparently informed cops he was simply being silly … and Phillips suspects alcohol might have been concerned.

He provides … “He was being an idiot and just threw it. There wasn’t really no argument or nothing. Just him being drunk. I feel like he wasn’t in the right state of mind.”

Video footage and photographs have surfaced that present simply how excessive Chiefs Bar is — with sidewalks situated slightly below the music venue and bar — and as you may see, it may’ve made for a lethal catastrophe Sunday evening if somebody had been hit.

Fortunately, the chair didn’t make any contact with harmless bystanders … because it struck the bottom just a few toes away from Nashville PD — who simply occurred to be standing outdoors.

For his half within the drama, Morgan was arrested on three felony counts of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor rely of disorderly conduct. His lawyer says he is cooperating with investigators as they dig into this.
