The senator was hospitalized on Wednesday after tripping at a hotel in Washington
Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the minority leader, was hospitalized on Wednesday following a fall at a Washington, D.C. hotel, a representative informed USA Today.
“This night, Leader McConnell tripped at a regional hotel throughout a personal supper,” David Popp, the senator’s interactions director, informed the outlet. “He has actually been confessed to the medical facility where he is getting treatment.”
The 81-year-old Republican was very first chosen to the Senate in 1984, and is the longest serving celebration leader in Senate history. McConnell acted as bulk leader from 2015 to 2021. In 2019, the senator suffered a shoulder fracture after tripping at his Kentucky house.

“We will not have as part of our program a costs that raises taxes on half the American individuals and sundowns Social Security and Medicare within 5 years,” McConnell said in 2015 after Scott launched his strategy.
