A longtime Ashanti fan web page, Ashanti News, introduced that it could now not be protecting the R&B star following the information that her husband and child’s father, Nelly, will probably be acting at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball.

“In light of recent news about Nelly and the decisions he has made… I can no longer run @AshantiNews or support The Haynes in the direction they are going. It’s beyond disappointing,” the assertion reads. “For over 20 years it’s been amazing connecting Ashanti fans around the world and sharing news, videos and photos. I will miss a lot of you! Take care.”

The fan web page has been protecting Ashanti’s profession since 2002 and has over 110,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Nelly has defended his determination to carry out on the occasion.

“I’m not doing this for money. I’m doing this ’cause it’s an honor. I respect the office,” he informed Willie D.

Nelly has confronted large backlash from followers and from the hip-hop group.

“It don’t matter who is in office. The same way that our men and women, our brothers and sisters who protect this country, have to go to war and have to put their life on the line for whoever in office,” the rapper, who was born on a navy base, continued.  So, if they’ll put their life on the road for whoever in workplace, I can rattling certain carry out for whoever in workplace.”
