The FIA, Formula 1’s governing body, implemented a rule in December restricting motorists from making political, spiritual, or individual declarations without authorization.
The concept is declarations political in nature can be dissentious (after all, much of the world is divided when it pertains to politics), and F1 does not desire fans pushed away. It’s like the old Michael Jordan quote … “Republicans buy sneakers, too.”
Hamilton, among the most singing super stars in the sport, stated he wasn’t shocked when he discovered of the FIA’s new rule, and he does not prepare to follow it … “I’m still going to be speaking on my end.”
“I feel the sport does have an obligation, still constantly, to speak up as a way to produce awareness on crucial subjects, especially as we are taking a trip to all these various locations, so absolutely nothing modifications,” Lewis states.
Hamilton’s had a controversial relationship with FIA … he discovered himself in a fight with them last season after they (tried to) crackdown on drivers wearing jewelry throughout races.
The Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 motorist stated that he knows he would be punished if he breaks the FIA’s new rule … however competes he won’t enable that to discourage him from speaking up on problems.
“We still have this platform. There’s a great deal of things we require to deal with.”
