The most popular sports take of the week goes to … Jerry Seinfeld???
Yup, the comic simply let loose the doozy on social networks … stating he thinks the Mets’ current woes are all due to the fact that of Timmy Trumpet.
Seriously.
Seinfeld — a HUGE Mets fan — made the claim in the remark area of SNYTV’s Instagram post Wednesday … pinning New york city’s September slide on Trumpet’s Aug. 31 in-game show.
“I blame that stupid Trumpet performance,” Seinfeld stated. “Celebrating in season. We haven’t won anything yet. Bad mojo.”
Seinfeld then compared it to when his preferred group lost the 2000 World Series to the Yankees … composing, “Same as when Baja Men showed up to play ‘Who Let Dogs Out’ in 2000 WS. Series ended right there.”
Naturally, it’s going to be extremely difficult to get Mets fans to concur with him. The group and its fans have actually liked Trumpet and his well-known “Narco” tune, which plays over the arena speakers when NY’s better, Edwin Diaz, comes out to the field.
In truth, the group’s fans cheered LOUDLY when the artist played it personally at the Aug. 31 video game.
Appears Seinfeld, however, is persuaded it’s all resulting in the failure of his precious team — which is now connected for top place in the NL East with the Braves in spite of having a big lead previously this year.
Sorry, Timmy.
