Jalen Hurts is lending an enormous hand to the household of a highschool soccer participant who was shot and killed in Texas earlier this month … paying for the teenager’s funeral bills.
The footballer — 18-year-old Jarvon Coles — died on March 9 … after authorities say no less than one shooter fired gunshots within the course of a Houston home social gathering he had been attending.
Cops say Coles was struck by the gunfire — and regardless of life-saving efforts, the North Shore H.S. linebacker was pronounced deceased a short while later at a close-by hospital.
Hurts, who attended a rival highschool of North Shore, was so moved by the tragedy after studying of the information … he determined to pay for Coles’ memorial service, in accordance with NFL Community’s Ian Rapoport.
The funeral was held over the weekend at The Mild of the World Christian Fellowship Church in Humble, Texas.
“He was like a light in the tunnel,” Coles’ grandfather, Braxton, instructed KHOU. “Everybody loved him. He had absolutely no enemies and it’s just beyond my comprehension that something like this would happen.”
Cole, who wore No. 10, was a crew captain in 2023. He helped lead North Shore to a 15-1 file this previous season.
He had a 4.1 GPA and obtained a number of faculty presents … however was planning to go to Lamar College.
