Prosecutors stated Wednesday afternoon they are dropping the domestic violence case versus previous Univ. of Texas guys’s basketball head coach Chris Beard.
Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza made the statement in a declaration … stating that after evaluating all of the realities of the case and consulting with the supposed victim, “our office has determined that the felony offense cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.”
A movement to dismiss the case was officially submitted earlier Wednesday, Garza stated.
Beard was at first struck with a charge of assault by strangulation/suffocation — household violence … over his supposed function in a heated conflict with his fiancée, Randi Trew.
According to court docs, Trew stated Beard hit, strangled, and bit her throughout a Dec. 12 argument in Austin, Texas. Police stated they saw noticeable teeth marks and inflammation on her arm and an abrasion on her face and leg. They likewise stated she had a cut on among her thumbs.
Trew eventually strolled back the claims in a public declaration …. stating, “Chris has stated that he was acting in self-defense, and I do not refute that.”
