Earth, Wind & Fire Drummer Fred White Dead at 67

Fred White, the drummer for Earth, Wind & Fire, is dead.

Fred passed away Sunday, according to his bro and bandmate, Verdine. The cause of death is uncertain.

The 4th of the White bros to carry out in Earth, Wind & Fire, Fred was among the well-known band’s early members … signing up with EWF method back in 1974 when he was simply 19 years of ages.

Fred played drums on 8 various Earth, Wind & Fire albums … plus a few of their most significant hit tunes like “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Saturday Night” and “Shining Star” … and he is among the 9 band members inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Verdine is remembering his late bro as an (*67*) and a “child protégé.” He included … Fred’s now with their other bro, and EWF creator, Maurice White in paradise.

Off phase, Verdine states Fred was “the wonderful bro that was always entertaining and delightfully mischievous! And we could always count on him to make a seemingly bad situation more light hearted!”
