Dr. Dre has his sights set on a financially rewarding music deal, one that would sell the rights to a few of his royalties and master recordings … and we’re informed the cost is well over $200 million.
The music magnate is close to selling a few of his music possessions in 2 different offers … one with Shamrock Holdings, and another with Universal Music Group … according to Billboard.
The possible Shamrock deal appears like this … Dre offers his artist royalties from 2 of his solo albums — his share of N.W.A artist royalties, plus his manufacturer royalties and the author’s share of the music where he does not own publishing rights.
The possible handle UMG is a little bit various … Dre offers the master recording of his very first solo album, “The Chronic,” plus his share of some Kendrick Lamar music.
Dre’s not offering all of his music … Billboard identifies these deals as mainly “passive income streams” that produce about $10 million each year … and he’s NOT offering his ownership stake in his record label, Aftermath.
Sources near Dr. Dre inform TMZ … the real asking price is in fact 10s of countless dollars greater than the $200 million figure Billboard is reporting.
Congrats, Dre. 💸
