Cops Yanked Dazed Hope Solo Out Of Car During DWI Arrest, Police Video Shows

The dazed Hope SoloAfter being non-cooperative with police during her DWI arrest in January, she was removed from her vehicle by officers.

Thefootage — taken by Queen City News— captured on a Winston-Salem Police Officer’s body-worn camera on March31… right after he had been called to a North Carolina WalmartParking lot reports of a mother asleep at the wheel with her children inside a car.

VideoIt shows the moment the officer came up to the GMC YukonAround 10:20, SoloThe U.S. Women’s Soccer Legend — seemed to have fallen asleep with her head on the driver’s seat, while her engine was running.

SoloAfter the officer knocked on her door, she immediately alerted herself and appeared completely out of place during questioning.

SheMumbling, she scrolled through the phone and made a call. SheInsisted that she had not been drinking and was only stopping to rest because she was tired.

TheHowever, the officer suspected her to be drunk, and told her that alcohol was coming out of her vehicle. SheThe two men began to fight with each other and the officer on the ground.

TheCops repeatedly asked her to get out of her car, but she declined. HerThere were also children who could be heard screaming or crying behind them.

UltimatelyOne of the officers grabbed her arm and took her out on the ride.

FootageShows SoloContinued being combative and refusing to submit to field sobriety test. CopsThen, put her in handcuffs. SheVideo of an officer walking along with a suspect could later be seen in which he shouts at them. “Oh my God, you don’t need to f***ing touch me!”

SoloThe case resulted in three criminal charges against him: driving while impaired, resisting an officer of the public and child abuse misdemeanor.

In JulyShe reached an agreement with the prosecutors to end her case. pleading guilty to DWI. InHer other charges against her were dropped in exchange for her plea.

SoloHe was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 24 months…and was ordered to pay fees and fines, along with other conditions.

FollowingShe stated in a statement that the case was resolved. “I underestimated what a destructive part of my life alcohol had become.”
