Competitive eater and radio character Patrick Philbin — notoriously called “Pat From Moonachie” — has actually died. He was 59.
Previous host Anthony Cumia of “The Opie & Anthony Show” broke the news of his death Monday night … stating Philbin, who often appeared on the program, was a well-rounded hero.
“Pat was a character,” Cumia stated through Twitter, “Entertaining as all hell. He was also a genuinely nice person. He was such a big part of the O&A show over the years. RIP Pat.”
The cause of death hasn’t been revealed however Philbin just recently informed his fans he was going through hydrotherapy … as one of his legs was cut off.
“I’m in hydrotherapy to keep my one remaining leg,” Philbin stated on Nov. 17.
