Prized ‘Star Wars’ souvenirs that came from Peter Mayhew, the actor who notoriously played Chewbacca, will increase for auction … and unrightfully so, according to the late actor’s wife.
Angie Mayhew informs TMZ … she’s mad an auction home in the UK is offering a lots of Pete’s belongings from his ‘Star Wars’ days, consisting of scripts, call sheets, signed pictures and more.
The collection was provided to Ryedale Auctioneers by a couple who moved into Peter’s old house in northern England and discovered the items in the attic.
The couple didn’t understand the souvenirs when came from Peter, so they unintentionally provided all of it up.
Angie informs us when they were vacating the house, Peter tried to snag his keepsakes from the attic, however could not enter due to severe knee concerns … and he didn’t desire Angie to run the risk of injury increasing there herself.
She states Peter scooped up as numerous items within arm’s reach as he could, however needed to leave the rest.
Angie states leaving the souvenirs was among her and Peter’s “biggest disappointments” in life.
On Tuesday, Peter’s wife saw the items were up for auction, and instantly got honchos at the Peter Mayhew Foundation to get in touch with the auction home. Angie states she prepares to consult with the auction home Thursday.
You’ll recall, the renowned ‘Star Wars’ actor died back in 2019. Angie is wishing to recover the items and put them on screen in the household’s “Chewy” museum in Texas.
