Brittney Griner Touches Down In U.S. After Release From Russia

Brittney Griner is lastly house … the WNBA star touched down on U.S. soil early Friday early morning — after authorities effectively negotiated her release from Russian custody on Thursday.

The 32-year-old was spotted leaving a personal jet in San Antonio … at around 5:40 AM ET.

She seemed using the exact same attire — a red coat and dark-colored trousers — that she used when she crossed paths with Viktor Bout in the UAE after the U.S. accepted trade the arms dealership to Russia in exchange for the basketball gamer.

White Home National Security Council Communications Planner John Kirby informed TODAY after Griner’s arrival that those who took a trip with her stated she remained in “very, very good spirits.”

“[She] appeared to be, obviously, in good health,” Kirby included.

Griner is now anticipated to go through a myriad of screening at a regional medical center in Texas to ensure she’s okay … prior to she ultimately goes back to her house in Phoenix.

Griner had been detained in Russia because February — after she was implicated of bringing hashish oil in her travel luggage at a Moscow airport. In August, she was sentenced to nine years in Russian jail.

Following her release on Thursday, Griner was seen smiling on an aircraft as she made her method back to the States.

Her spouse, Cherelle Griner, said at the White House hours after her release that she seemed like her household was “whole” once again.
