Serena Williams husband, internet entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian is getting absolutely cooked on Black Twitter, all because he commented on an apparent racist incident that occurred in Ireland.
In a now viral video, an Irish gymnastics league refused to give a young Black gymnast a medal – and embarrassed her, by giving a medal to every one of her teammates.
The video went viral, and caused an international outrage.
On Thursday, Serena’s husband posted about the incident – and claimed that he couldn’t believe that the snub was race-based.

Alexis is an internet entrepreneur and investor. He is best known as the co-founder and former executive chairman of the social media site Reddit along with Steve Huffman and Aaron Swartz. He also co-founded the early-stage venture capital firm Initialized Capital, helped launch the travel search website Hipmunk, and started the social enterprise Breadpig. He was also a partner at Y Combinator.
Ohanian is based in Florida, where he lives with his wife, former tennis player Serena Williams, and their daughters, Alexis Olympia Ohanian and Adira River Ohanian.
As of 2019, Forbes estimated Ohanian’s net worth as $70 million.
