Benny the Butcher & B$F Release ‘Long Live DJ Shay’ Project

To begin with, long live DJ Shay!

Back in August of in 2015, the Buffalo-based DJ/manufacturer unfortunately died at the age of 48. Born Demetrius Chawton Robinson, Shay was a heavy advocate of the Griselda and Black Soprano Household motions. On top of producing for the team, anytime you saw Conway the Device, Westside Gunn, and Benny the Butcher, there wasn’t a doubt Shay was ideal next to them.

Putting Buffalo on the map was a huge part of his doing and to honor his tradition, Benny and B$F have actually chosen to tape-record and release a brand-new project in his memory called Long Live DJ Shay.

“Long Live DJ Shay! We put a lot into this understanding he is viewing down on us, and I understand this is gonna wake everybody up,” Benny the Butcher states. “B$F is the greatest. I guarantee you we them ones. The album is first-class; from production to the rhymes and it’s completely blended by the famous Young Expert, so I understand it’s gone pop out ya speakers the ideal method.”

Geared up with 14 tracks, the project includes contributions from B$F’s own Benny, Rick Hyde, Heem, and Loveboat Luciano, in addition to Conway the Device, Westside Gunn, Range God Cooks, DJ Premier (“Times Is Rough“), Alchemist, Boldy James, Krayzie Bone, Cory Gunz, ElCamino, Armani Caesar, Jansport J, and a couple of others. Oh, and did I point out Young Expert dealt with the mix?! Yeah.
