Two Arkansas football gamers were jailed after they were apparently associated with a physical run-in with cops … simply hours after the Razorbacks lost their homecoming video game.
According to the Fayetteville Police Dept., Anthony Brown and Myles Slusher were associated with a supposed occurrence at 2 AM on Sunday … when officers were on foot patrol near a club less than a mile from school.
In court files, an FPD officer stated Brown — a freshman defensive back from Tennessee — was standing in the street and was advised to get on the walkway … and he at first complied.
However, according to the docs, when officers circled around back around, Brown was “intentionally” standing in the street once again.
“I walked to Brown and grabbed his sleeve of his right arm,” the officer stated in the docs. “I walked with Brown to the sideway.”
That’s when things apparently got physical … with the police stating in the files that Brown pressed him away — which required him to take the 19-year-old to the ground and into custody.
“Brown engaged in fighting behavior,” the officer composed, “congregated with two or more other people in a public place refusing to comply with a lawful order to disperse, and obstructed vehicular traffic in a public place.”
According to polices, while Brown was getting cuffed, Slusher — a junior defensive back — got the detaining officer in order to attempt to pull him off of Brown, according to the docs.
Slusher was ultimately nabbed also.
Brown and Slusher were transferred to the Washington County Detention Center and launched later on Sunday early morning. Both are dealing with disorderly conduct charges. A court date for the duo has actually been set for December.
The occurrence occurred quickly after the Razorbacks lost to the Liberty Flames. Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman stated in a declaration Sunday the group knew the arrests.
“We are in the process of gathering information from the proper authorities,” Pittman stated. “Once we have that information, we will determine their status with our team.”
