Fat Joe has had a rap profession since 1992, and the hip-hop OG says he simply doesn’t perceive a number of the music that a number of the newer rappers are making as of late.

“I encourage the youth and I love the youth, [but] I’ve sat in traffic and [heard the music] — I felt like they were playing devil music right next to me,” he instructed Complicated. “I’m like, ‘Yo, what the f*ck? That’s Hip Hop?!’ They got some weird sh*t going on.”

He continued, “I f*ck with them, I’m always gonna salute them. I don’t know how they spiraled into this particular sound. Hip Hop’s so diverse — we got Lauryn Hill, we got Biz Markie, you got Eric B. and Rakim, you got Nas… You’re not gonna open this sht and hear the same sh*t.”

Drill is without doubt one of the quickest rising genres to return out of New York, however Fat Joe says he is not going to be hopping on the brand new wave. As a substitute, he’s trying to collaborate with Babyface.
