Don Lemon stepped in it once more Monday, apparently making what he thought was an off-mic comment about Jon Stewart after which, after an ungainly pause, backtracking massive time.
Don threw to a clip of Jon Stewart interviewing U.S. Deputy Secretary of Protection Kathleen Hicks, by which Stewart challenged what he referred to as excessive waste within the DOD’s $850 billion finances. When Hicks took problem with the waste allegation, Jon shot again … “I can’t figure out how $850 billion to a department means that the rank and file still have to be on food stamps. To me, that’s f***ing corruption.”

The video of the interview stayed up however the audio reduce out, and then you definately hear Don, apparently speaking to his cohosts not realizing his mic was scorching, saying, “He gets a lot of leeway with the comedian thing, though.” It appears he was speaking to his co-anchors and received caught on air.
There was silence for a number of seconds, after which Don tried to recuperate, saying Stewart is a lot greater than a comic. He repeated that once more.
