A heartbreaking loss. Singer-songwriter Ben Kweller revealed that his son Dorian Zev passed away at 16.
“There’s no way that I can be typing this but I am. … Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, was eliminated last night. He was just 16 and he was a real legend. Kindest, mild soul, a good friend to all. If you understood him, you know,” the “Falling” vocalist, 41, composed by means of Instagram on Tuesday, February 28, along with an image of the late teen. The artist’s other half, Liz Kweller, composed in a different social networks post that Dorian Zev had actually passed away in a car accident, per numerous outlets.
Ben went on to applaud his late son’s dedication to music-making.
“Dorian Zev wrote and recorded songs every day. A real poet from the day he began speaking. Only a few of his recordings were launched however he was on a course and thrilled about his journey. He had many strategies!!! His initially gig remained in 2 weeks, at SXSW,” he composed, referencing the yearly arts conference and celebration in Austin, Texas. “My last text with him had to do with the merch he desired to make.”
The grieving dad included that he and his household were “in complete shock” amid the loss.

Just 4 days prior to Dorian’s death, the teen launched a single entitled “Hickeys.”
“Hickeys out now!!!!” he composed by means of Instagram along with an image of the tune’s cover art. The track was Dorian’s 6th single.
When revealing the news of his son’s passing, the “Wasted & Ready” vocalist (*5*) to listen to Dorian’s music.
“We’ll never ever overcome him as long as we’re here in the world. Please keep his spirit alive with your memories and the music he made: @reallyzev,” Ben composed, connecting to his son’s Instagram page.
