LeBron James Says He’s ‘Disappointed’ Lakers Didn’t Trade For Kyrie Irving

LeBron James confesses he’s “disappointed” the Lakers didn’t reunite him with his old colleague Kyrie Irving … stating Monday he believed a trade for the point player might have offered him the opportunity to win several champions in L.A.

LBJ took a seat for an interview with ESPN’s Michael Wilbon … and when the subject of Kyrie turned up, it wasn’t difficult to see the King was sad the Lakers got vanquished by the Mavericks in a swap for the Nets super star.

“Definitely disappointed,” James stated. “I can’t sit here and say I’m not disappointed.”

James called Irving somebody he understands he has excellent chemistry with — and somebody who “can help you win championships.”

The 38-year-old, however, stated he’s currently overcoming it … informing Wilbon, “My focus has shifted back to where it should be, and that’s this club now and what we have in the locker room.”

As we formerly reported, Irving was sent to Dallas on Sunday after he requested a trade recently. As part of the swap, Dallas sent out over Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round choice and a handful of second-rounders.

L.A. supposedly strove to enter into the mix for Irving — as did the Heat, Suns and Clippers.

James and Irving formerly had success in Cleveland, when they went to 4 successive NBA Finals. They won a title in 2016 after getting rid of a 3-1 deficit versus the Warriors.

After news broke that Irving was on the relocation from Brooklyn to Dallas, James sent an eyebrow-raising tweet that stated, “Maybe it’s me.”

It’s uncertain who or what James was describing, though the timing was fascinating. But, in either case, the four-time time NBA champ says he’s moving past the dissatisfaction of all of it.
