‘8 Mile’ Star Mekhi Phifer Says There Will Never Be a Sequel

Mekhi Phifer has some problem for “8 Mile” fans, on the heels of the flick’s platinum anniversary — do not lose time trying to find a sequel, ”trigger it ain’t occurring!!!

We overtook the “8 Mile” star soon after the traditional movie marked its 20th anniversary … and we needed to ask if there was anything in the works for a brand-new story connected to the OG characters.

Mekhi informs TMZ Hip Hop … there will never be a follow-up to the movie, as far as he’s worried. He says, in some cases it’s finest to leave the classics alone … including there’s never been any convo about making one take place.

Now, he does acknowledge a sequel might be fascinating — simply story-wise — however he says he would not wish to remain in it, and he questions his costar Eminem would be a part of it either.

As far as their relationship goes … he says they’re still friends and they stay connected. He includes, Em is focusing more on his music today, so that’s another factor they will not be going back to 8 Mile Road.

Since the movie dropped in November 2002, Eminem’s music profession’s had its ups and downs, however he’s still extensively acknowledged as a hip hop icon … and he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year.
