The Washington Commanders were supposedly behind the release of uncomfortable old e-mails that led to Jon Gruden‘s shooting as Las Vegas Raiders head coach, a brand-new Home Oversight and Reform Committee report claims.
The 79-page report — entitled “How the NFL and the Washington Commanders Covered Up Decades of Sexual Misconduct” — was launched on Thursday, more than a year after introducing the examination — and it’s unsightly for Dan Snyder, with the committee concluding he “permitted and participated in” the dreadful work environment culture.
In truth, the committee states Snyder tried to move blame onto others and far from himself, and even supplied a host of harmful e-mails sent out and/or gotten by previous group president Bruce Allen to your home Oversight Committee … the day prior to Allen was set to affirm.
Those e-mails included the profane and perhaps racist messages sent out by Jon Gruden years previously … which were released in the Wall Street Journal. Gruden, the Raiders head coach at the time, was required to step down from his task as an outcome of the scandal.

The report states Allen asked a member of the NFL’s legal group why they’d launched the e-mails to the paper, to which the lawyer reacted … “We didn’t do it at the league office. It came out of their side.”
Obviously, the e-mails from about a years earlier, which included homophobic language and racial tropes, were revealed by The Journal in October 2021 … and the Super Bowl-winning coach stepped down quickly after. He has actually not worked as a coach given that.
In addition to the discovery about the e-mails, the Committee report paints a damning photo of a company swarming with work environment misbehavior, much of it stemming from the really leading of the Commanders.
Last month, Snyder revealed he’d employed a bank to examine prospective interest in a sale for the Commanders.
As we reported, Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z, both interested in acquiring the group, just recently had a secret dinner meeting in Los Angeles to go over a prospective collaboration.
Safe to state whoever takes control of the group — if it does increase for sale — will have a huge clean-up on their hands.
