Elon Musk and AOC Trade Jabs Over His Plan to Charge Twitter Users

Elon Musk entered into a huge ‘ol Twitter battle with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, trading jabs over the billionaire’s intent to charge validated users a charge to preserve their status on the social networks platform.

Musk — Twitter’s brand-new owner — revealed today he would carry out a policy charging an $8 month-to-month cost for users to keep their blue check badges to show their accounts are genuine. He initially set the cost at $20, however then decreased it. It’s uncertain when he prepares to make the $8 cost authorities.

This didn’t agree with numerous critics and AOC, who sent a flurry of Tweets Tuesday/Wednesday, offering Musk a piece of her mind.

“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan,” the New York congresswoman tweeted.

She even grumbled that her Twitter alerts weren’t working correctly.

Musk then entered into it with her. The Tesla/SpaceX employer tweeted an image of an AOC sweatshirt selling on her site for $58, relatively protecting his $8 membership cost by revealing she, too, is attempting to monetize her organization.

But, the Democratic legislator wasn’t having it, tweeting … “My workers are union, make a living wage, have full healthcare, and aren’t subject to racist treatment in their workplaces. Items are made in USA.”

Musk fired back … “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8.” AOC landed the last punch, however, stating she had “gotten under a certain billionaire’s skin” beside a laughing emoji.
